Privacy Policy

Cirro ("we", "us") is a voice-first messaging app operated by Clarvit Technologies Private Limited, Mumbai, India. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can delete it.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and (if you choose phone login) your phone number. Passwords are stored in an encrypted (hashed) form and are never readable by us.

Messages: We store the text and voice messages you send in your groups so they can be delivered and shown in conversation history.

Voice recordings: When you send a voice message, the audio is uploaded to our storage provider and processed to generate a text transcript (see Third-Party Services below).

Usage data: Basic technical data such as your last-seen time and device connection status, used to operate the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate Cirro: to create your account, deliver your messages, transcribe voice notes, show online/last-seen status, and send notifications. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your messages for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with service providers only as needed to run the app:

• Cloudinary — stores your voice message audio files.
• OpenAI — we send voice message audio to OpenAI's Whisper service to generate a text transcript of the recording. This is an automated AI transcription process.
• Railway — hosts our servers and database.
• Firebase (Google) — used for phone-number verification on the mobile app.

These providers process data on our behalf and are required to protect it. We share only what is necessary for each function.

4. AI-Powered Transcription

Cirro uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI Whisper) to automatically convert your voice messages into text. By sending a voice message, you consent to your audio being processed by this service for the purpose of transcription. Transcripts are shown to members of the group you sent the message to.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). When you delete your account:

• Your personal profile data (name, email, phone, password) is removed or anonymized.
• The raw audio of your voice messages is permanently deleted from our storage.
• Messages you sent in group conversations remain visible to other members but are shown as coming from "Deleted User", so group history stays coherent while your identity is removed.

6. Data Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed. We restrict access to personal data to what is necessary to operate the service.

7. Children's Privacy

Cirro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
